The new trainee's

November 18, 2017

It's a humbling experience when you look for new potential people to participate in farming, even though you know there is a lot of unemployment and poverty it's always good to be reminded of that when you witness it first hand. It gives me motivation!  We are blessed to have found four exciting young men, two of them have little experience in agriculture and two of them have no experience at all, they just rally for the chance that's been given to them.

Let me introduce them to you

1.  Zeph - Zeph is the oldest out of the group he is 44 years young and coming from Toti area , he has got three daughters. He had a small garden at his home but it got washed away by the recent floodings. Zeph is smart man with a lot of potential. He does not have a job or money, he has to travel about 40 km to get the training. Zeph is keen he wants to start but he just does not have any resources How can he start? Well, That is why we are there! We are going to help him with education and mentorship, planting , harvesting and selling. We call it "The hands on approach"

 2. Gumede - Gumede is a young men of 24 coming from Malangeni, he is a bright young men and he did finished school, he did a IT studies after that but is without a Job for more than a year! And there is not unemployment grant in South Africa!  Gumede is ambitious, he loves to debate and he will question you about everything! Gumede is excited about Agriculture and we see lots of potential in Gumede, we want to get him on his way in life to create the success he is desiring for. For Gumede we hope to be his "wheel barrow" to success.

3. Junior - Junior is 19 from Umgababa he is and hard working man, he was battling with school and after failing three years in a row he decided to call it quits because he needed to make a living. Junior lost his father at young age and his mother when he was nine. His mom died in a taxi accident, these accidents happen way too often. Junior is trying to find his way in life, it's a hard life. From going to his uncle to his aunt  he just does not have a home. He is willing to work but we need to be a bit more patient with Junior as he has no experience . We are training Junior and want to get him going as a farmer to support his own self. For Junior it's a chance he wants to grab with both hands!

4. France - France is 19 and also from Umgababa. France makes building blocks for next to nothing, hard work lots of wear and tear on your body and the only thing you have is; a bread with something on it, literally... France aims for a higher plan in life, that is why he is excited about this chance. France is the same as Junior he has no experience in farming.  France decided to rather commit to our programme in the hope for a better future. France got a good learning ability and we would love to see him succeed!
